Meet Dione
(she/her)
I’m a movement enthusiast who learned intuitively from an early age the ability my body had
to help process and digest my experiences. This innate wisdom is the foundation of my teaching.
My classes are accessibly crafted to meet the physical needs and abilities of my students and
clients coupled with the exploration of meditation and breath work.
I subscribe to the belief that personal health must incorporate not only our physical body
but also our emotional and mental well being. We must pay as much attention to one as we do the others.
I am also a mother of three who enjoys travelling, experiencing others culture and
occasionally expressing myself through poetry and spoken word.
Education & Experience
My formal education is in the area of psychology and the justice system. I hold a Bachelor Degree
in Criminal Psychology and a Graduate diploma in Justice Studies. I am a certified yoga teacher and
soul coach with a personal and professional meditation background spanning more than ten years.
As a Sr. Operation Supervisor with an emergency service, I have over twenty years of
experience in training, mentoring and leadership.
In the field of Yoga and Mindfulness , I have competed over a 1100 hours in Yoga Teacher Training
and Trauma Informed workshops with certifications in Hatha Yoga, Functional Yoga,
Vinyasa Yoga, Yin and Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Incarcerated
and under served Youth and Mindfulness Meditation.
In addition to my training I have lead over 1000 hours of yoga classes, workshops, private sessions
and retreats. I serve as a mentor in Tracey Sograhti’s 50+ Hour Yin Teacher Training as well as a
mentor to new and aspiring Yoga and Meditation teachers.
Yoga & Movement
Soulful Yogini Yoga is my platform where I offer my students and clients the ability to
reconnect with their bodies in a way that is accessible physically, mentally and emotionally.
As a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) woman I am acutely aware of the lack of
representation in the yoga community and therefore strive to provide and hold space for every-body.
Meditation & Soul Coaching
As a Soul Coach my guided meditations are utilized as a medium for self discovery.
My sessions are either one-on-one or small group settings.
Mentorship
As an eternal student I am constantly seeking opportunities for learning.
I believe that we are here to serve and the knowledge we gain is meant to be shared.
In my corporate career I have more than 20 years of experience in training,
mentoring and leadership. Areas where I lend my support are teacher training,
small group events and one-on-one sessions with teachers.
“Our yoga practice can be seen as a metaphor for life. Every time we step on our mats
we cultivate the peace, mindfulness and fortitude needed to maneuver our way through life.
I encourage my students to take their practice with them each time they leave their mats
by utilizing their most powerful tool, their breath.”
